Web 3.0, or Web 3 for short, is the third generation of the World Wide Web. It is an evolution of the internet, it’s a lot more intelligent than Web 2.0, and this is because it’s built on a decentralized technology called the blockchain.
You might be wondering if I am talking about web 3.0 then what were the web 1 and 2? Well, web 1.0 is traditional web sites where there is one server and one site administrator; these servers were not linked together to interact with each other in any way so it's often referred to as a “one-to-one” relationship between users and websites its similar to some random website where you can only do one thing such as reading books, listening music or watch videos whereas Web 2.0 introduced the idea of ‘social’ media where users are interacting with other users through certain platforms that became popular such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which led to the creation of #Hashtags, social media trends and much more interactive content such as responses from.
The core idea of web 3.0 is that it will store all user data among its users instead of storing them on specific servers where other companies can access those data. As the data will be stored among its user there is a chance that some imposter might try to hijack those data. Well, no worries about that as web 3.0 is totally based on decentralization so nobody can have your data unless you decide it.
In the future of the web, all software will be web-based and users accessing it will use a browser. The underlying architecture of Web 3 follows principles of peer-to-peer networking, thus enabling better security by avoiding centralized points of failure. Web 3 is also meant to be more machine-readable than previous versions of the web, with more data and metadata being shared between networks and other technologies and devices.
